Issaquah Washington is a growing suburb located off the 1-90 corridor approximately seventeen miles east of downtown Seattle. It got its start as a mining town supporting the Squak and Cougar Mountain mines. As the deposits depleted, the logging industry moved in during the 1890’s. Issaquah was incorporated in 1892. Logging continued to be the main stay of industry until the great depression. As the logging industry subsides, companies like Boeing started supplying jobs and stability to the area. Today, Issaquah is home to such well-known companies as Costco Wholesale, Siemens medical solutions, Gold Sim technology, Darigold and the always delicious Boehm’s Candies.
Besides its proximity to Seattle, Issaquah is actually quite close to the Cascade mountains as well. The town is
